Vào năm học thứ hai tại trường Ecole Polytechnique, tôi tham gia một dự án phát triển một phần mềm giúp những người tàn tật đánh máy bằng mắt thay vì bằng tay. Giả sử có một người đang nhìn vào màn hình máy tính, trên đó hiển thị một bàn phím ảo. Dự án này gồm hai phần chính: thứ nhất, dùng một camera quan sát mắt người sử dụng, theo dõi sự chuyển động của con ngươi và tính toán ra điểm nhìn của người đó trên màn hình. Thứ hai, từ những điểm nhìn ấy, kết nối chúng thành một quỹ đạo và dự đoán xem, với quỹ đạo ấy, người dùng muốn gõ những phím nào và muốn nhập từ gì. Chúng tôi đã dành gần 1 năm để phát triển dự án ấy. Thời điểm ấn tượng nhất mà tôi còn nhớ là khi kiểm tra phần mềm, tôi đã nhìn vào các chữ "S, C, I, E, N, C, E" và máy tính đã dự đoán "science" là từ tôi muốn gõ. Dự án đó đã đoạt giải nhì trong tất cả các phần mềm được gửi dự thi ở Ecole Polytechnique. Quãng thời gian phát triển phần mềm đầu tiên đó là thời gian đáng nhớ nhất trong cuộc sống sinh viên của tôi.

In the second year of study at the Ecole Polytechnique, I joined a project to develop a software to help the disabled people by typing the eyes instead of by hand. Suppose there is a person who is looking at the computer screen, on which display a virtual keyboard. This project consists of two main parts: first, use a eye camera users, track the movement of the IRIS and calculate out points of view of the person on the screen. Second, from the point of view, connecting them into a trajectory and projected view, with the trajectory, the user wants to type the key and want to enter from. We spent almost a year to develop the project. The most impressive moment that I remember was when checking software, I was looking at the letters "S, C, I, E, N, C, E" and the computer had predicted "science" is the word I like to type. The project that won second prize in the all software submitted for competition at the Ecole Polytechnique. While the first software development that is most memorable time in the lives of my students.
